How cardPad works

Every X profile is a token. Anyone can launch any X profile as a token on pons, on Robinhood Chain, from their own wallet. The creator fees it earns go to the person behind the profile.

How it works#

  1. Someone opens the launch page and picks a profile: any public X profile, or their own.
  2. They sign in with X, connect a wallet and press Launch. cardPad’s contract checks the profile and launches it on pons. Name, ticker and picture come from the X profile. The launcher pays about 0.0005 ETH plus gas.
  3. Anyone can trade the card on pons. Every trade pays creator fees, and cardPad credits them card by card: 70% to the profile, 10% to whoever launched it.
  4. The person behind the profile signs in with X and claims their share in ETH.

One profile, one card, ever. Cards follow the X account, not the handle, so a rename doesn’t make a second card.

Launch rules#

  • The X account you sign in with is at least 30 days old, has at least 25 followers and isn’t protected.
  • Up to 3 launches per account every 24 hours.
  • The profile you launch exists, is public, hasn’t opted out and isn’t a card yet.
  • There is a daily cap on launches across the whole site. When launches are paused, the site says so.

A launch that breaks a rule is refused with the reason before your wallet is asked for anything.

Dev buy#

Launching your own profile? Add a dev buy and your wallet buys the first tokens in the launch transaction itself: before anyone else, and without pons’s snipe tax. The launch page shows the most you can buy.

Dev buys only work on your own card. On someone else’s profile it would be an insider buy, so the launch page and the contract both refuse it.

Fees and the split#

Every trade on a card pays the pons base fee of 1% plus a creator tax of 1%. pons keeps 0.3%. The remaining 1.7% of each trade goes to cardPad as the card’s fee recipient, and we credit it like this:

The launcher10%—

Launching costs the pons launch fee plus gas (about 0.0005 ETH plus gas), paid by whoever launches. The fee goes to pons. The balances live in our ledger, one entry per fee, until they’re claimed.

Claiming#

  1. Open Claim and sign in with X. That proves the account is yours.
  2. Link a payout wallet by signing one message with it. No transaction, no gas.
  3. Press Claim. We send your balance in ETH on Robinhood Chain to that wallet and pay the gas.

Claims start at 0.001 ETH. Large payouts can wait for a manual check. You need ETH on Robinhood Chain only if you want to trade; the bridge gets it there.

Curve and graduation#

Every card starts on a pons bonding curve: the price rises as people buy. When 4.2 ETH has gone into the curve, the card graduates and trades in a Uniswap v4 pool from then on. Creator fees keep flowing in both phases.

Opting out#

Don’t want to be a card? Open the opt-out page, sign in with X and press “Never launch my profile”. From then on every post that targets you is rejected, and your page says you opted out.

If your profile is already a card, opting out can’t remove it: the token lives on-chain and keeps trading. Its fees stay yours to claim, opted out or not.

Risks#

  • Cards are speculative tokens. Their price can drop to zero, and you can lose everything you put in.
  • A card is not endorsed by the person behind the profile unless they say so. Anyone can launch any public profile.
  • Trading happens in pons’s contracts, not ours. cardPad doesn’t hold your tokens or your ETH; it holds fee balances until you claim them.
  • Payouts can be delayed by network problems or manual checks.
  • cardPad is not affiliated with X Corp. Nothing here is investment advice.

FAQ#

Does the person behind the profile have to agree?

No. Any public profile can be launched. The fees are theirs either way, and they can opt out of future launches.

What does launching cost?

The pons launch fee plus gas, about 0.0005 ETH plus gas, paid from your wallet. You earn 10% of the card’s fees for launching it.

Where do I buy a card?

On pons. Every card page has a Trade button that opens it there.

Which chain?

Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum layer 2. Gas and payouts are in ETH.

What if the handle changes?

Cards are tied to the X account id. The card follows the account to its new handle.
